Great card.. like mentioned, its sometimes done to just play a card where power and toughness both equal mana cost, but THIS baby has first strike on top of that... THAT alone would make it a rare. But the fact that it ALSO has protection from white makes it just plain sweet. 5/5

By the way, Dave Slate, it's not megrim anymore man... haha it's Liliana's Caress. Does the exact same effect for 1 less mana cost.

Painter's Servant + this = Discard Hand. Throw in Dread of Night as a solid 1cmc spell to keep creatures down, and slowly kill with Leechridden Swamp and eventually a slightly nerfed Tombstalker--Helps with Gloom lock-down.

I run this in my mono black discard deck and I often pull this and a dark ritual. First turn rack, Second turn dark ritual, persecute wins every single time against any other mono deck. Hard to recover if you have hypnotic specter or nxathid turn 3. Only drawback is its inability to discard colorless cards(lands, artifacts).

I personally do not have one, but with alara's block being 99% multicolor, u can dump an entire hand (minus lands) for 4 mana. Very nice!

This is mono color hate at its greatest. Say good buy to those dragon storms you've been saving for when you get you next few rite of flames. Amazing for control, discard, and more. GET THIS CARD if you know how to use it because the ability to get the advantage this gives over an opponent it worth it.

Excellent card! Awesome against single or dual color decks. I've played it several times to the dismay of my opponents, it's just great!
