So here's the thing... we see Colossus and think - hey, he can Charge with a heavy for 7 damage. But the reality is, top dial this is a strong Running Shot figure that should make the most of his ranged attacks and let the opponents come to him. If Pete sits back in hindering to snipe, he's going to have a 20 defense at range, and anyone that bases him will be looking at a huge damage risk the following turn.
By the time he gets to the Phoenix Effect, he'll probably want to start bringing the fight up close. Of all the Phoenix 5, the armored mutant has the thickest skin with damage reduction on all 11 of his slots and defenses that never drop below 17. Late dial Poison is very welcome on a big pointed figure dealing damage even when he's not attacking.
It's an easy dial to play - there's not much variation in power set or abilities, and it progresses steadily downward. Damage is fairly consistent too, and he's likely to run out of objects before he loses Super Strength, so you probably won't care when he picks up Poison. A very strong figure, Colossus holds his own well.
