Absolutely clutch in large creature decks- imagine, as happens to me regularly, that you swing against a player who has no fliers. Discard a medium size cards for a fair sized flier at 6/5, or go for broke and discard Pathrazer of Ulamog to deal 14 damage on the 5th or 6th turn. Either way, I see no downside to this beast- you even draw a card to replace the one you lost.
