Banding is an underrated ability. Should just be called anti-trample at the cost of 1 chump blocker, or gang up on a huge creature with a zillion 1/1's and have only 1 of your 1/1's take all the damage.
And in the notion of attacking. If you have a good trampler but don't want to have it get massacred; attack with a Banding creature, have it assign it's damage as much as possible to blocking creatures so more trample damage can go over to the Player. Then assign all the damage that would be dealt by the blockers to the Banding creature, allowing the Trampler to live to attack the next round. Note* Only 1 non-banding creature can attack in a band.
