Cards of note in this set are many, including the Power Nine cards at the top of the heap. Ancestral Recall, Black Lotus, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl, Mox Ruby, Mox Sapphire, Timetwister & Time Walk make up the Power Nine.  Additionally Dual Lands, Birds of Paradise, Serra Angel, Sol Ring & many other notable cards are found throughout the set.

People keep comparing this to Char, from Ravnica block. Char was god awful. A red 3-mana 4-burn that burns you too? Terrible. This, on the other hand, is a blue 3-mana 4-burn that burns you too. Outstanding. In a color that often lacks direct damage win conditions, this is an absolutely excellent card. I keep at least 2 on sideboard in every blue deck I have. 5 stars.

Critical card for X/U beater decks. Now that Char's gone from Standard, this is an efficient killer of Serra Angels, or just about anything. The drawback goes to its efficiency, but in a two-color Sligh like deck, this is a great card to prevent racing.

Blue burn!? It's a sign of the apcolypse! Repent! Repent! AAARRRGGGHHH!!

Ok. This card is just wow. 4 damage to anything for 3 mana? That better than what most of red can do! No wonder it was restricted. If only it was...um...cooler looking. Yeah. Nevermind.

How can a card get any better? A BLUE damage spell? It was discontinued because it broke the color wheel..

Even with the drawback of getting hit for 2 life, this card is extremely good. I mean 3 mana for 4 damage with a little drawback, not bad right? Then people realized that it was blue ... it has never hit print since.

Blue decks might not be as agressive as Psionic Blast would like them to be - but Psionic Blast is still an awesome way of getting rid of opposing creatures, one of the things that Blue is worst at.

Char was definitely not awful, but it's better in blue than it was in red. However, 2 damage to you isn't trivial unless your deck is super-aggressive, and blue decks don't tend to be that way...but overall this is a good card.

I'm still trying to figure out why this card is going for soo much, but anywho, its still good. Yeah it hurts you, but combined with its red counterpart Char, you can kill your opponent in just a huge fell swoop for very little mana. Not bad at all, not bad at all.
