| Description | The Alpha set was designed by Richard Garfield and released in August of 1993. This set consists of 295 cards, 74 common, 95 uncommon and 116 rares with 10 lands. Alpha cards have black borders. There is no set symbol for this set. The easiest way to discern an Alpha card is the more rounded corner. The estimated print run was 2,600,000 cards. Cards of note in this set are many, including the Power Nine cards at the top of the heap. Ancestral Recall, Black Lotus, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl, Mox Ruby, Mox Sapphire, Timetwister & Time Walk make up the Power Nine. Additionally Dual Lands, Birds of Paradise, Serra Angel, Sol Ring & many other notable cards are found throughout the set. |

This is one of the cards that got me interested when I first started playing (during Unlimited). This thing will repeatedly stop other 1cc creatures, unless your opponent(s) wish to waste a spell to get rid of it. Staple in my deck long before tinder wall came out.

Wall of wood is by no means a bad card. It's just that there are so many better common cards out there. Get a Birds of Paradise or Pouncing Jaguar and then forget about this unspectacular card.

This card is an inferior version of Tinder Wall from Ice Age. I like the low casting cost, but it would pain me to play it thinking about Tinder Wall

This card sucks. Wall of Timber in Ice Age does the same thing but speeds up your deck.
