I like to use this in my G/U mana ramp deck. I can morph out this or Vesuvan Shapeshifter turn 2. Can copy something with Vesuvan Shapeshifter turn 3 if I like anything, or just morph out another creature. Basically once it gets rolling I can constantly copy the Thelonite's triggered ability each upkeep with the Vesuvan Shapeshifter and overrun my opponent with 4x Saprolings, 8x Saprolings, etc. that each get +1/+1 from each copy of the Hermit in play.

Would be 4 stars if the morph cost was a little lower, but still an absolute must for saproling decks. I run 4 in mine. Combo's nicely with some Essence Wardens, thallid shell dwellers, and Epic Struggle. Are you familiar with Epic Struggle? If not, check it out now. Perfect in saproling decks!
