I love it. It might not be a Damnation, but this "budget Damnation" still works like a charm in black control or multiplayer - or, as mentioned before, in a creature-heavy environment -> just be careful you're not playing this when your opponent has tons of creatures in play to make sure he doesn't just sacrifice some small fry instead of the big ones that you want him to.

If I'm playing it casually I use them in my monoblack control deck. To be honest I can't really say they arn't good enough to be more competative. If your metagame is creature heavy they might work pretty well.
