I can make this card good with some of the older cards that makes you able to not have to pay your upkeep.

You're pretty much going to need to use a combo to get him into play - either reanimate him with Zombify or something similar or make judicious use of mana boosters like Dark Ritual. Either way, the high casting cost docks him a star. But once he's in play? Near bloody unstoppable.

I would never use him normaly, but with a Breakfast deck (Survival, Volraths shapeshifter,) he owns, in just 2 mana he is in your Graveyard, you use his awsome ability as much as you want, then just change your card in your graveyard (so you dont have to pay the upkeep) he works like a dream

I would give him 5 stars but his upkeep cost is a bit steep. However- his ability is like a controlled Wrath of God and if your in a team game w/ a partner who has a life gaining deck, your enemies better arrest Kuro or it could be game. I love bringing this guy out into play and i love using his abbility to kill off creatures.

overall not a tourney winner, but in agianst a snake deck you can control and destroy any snake tokens they may get. so i'd put it in my sideblock in a kamigawa block deck, but thats about it. plus...you'll never get him out vs. a kamigawa white weenie deck or a red/blue control deck. one word - pithing needle.
