it's pretty much the non-shade pump format of Nantuko Shade... And loss of life can't be prevented oredirected so in some regaurd is has a 1-Up on Nantuko vs "Prevention/Allowance" decks. Nantuko in the long run is still more effective(I.E. Creature smackdown) but this is combo happy and a cheaper card, lol.
Anyway, I use this in my Unlimited Black mana combo deck, so he's actually one of my main kills and I don't have to deal direct combat damage to trigger his effect, and I can still kill opponent who has played fog, darkness, Constant Mists, or a holy Day.Not Ethereal Haze though, unfortunetly.
As mentioned before, this plus 'Ping' ability = Awesome!
