This is a great turn 1-3 red mana ramp creature. Burn up your hand using Seething Song, Rite of Flame, Desperate Ritual, Simian Spirit Guide, etc. to give him double strike right away, maybe enchant with Taste of Mayhem for added brutality.

personaly i like this card becuse its abilites. my favorite one is the hellbent ability were it gets double strike. and with most of my red decks i use spells to kill of there creatures. so ive killed people with just this card.

Rakdos Pit Dragon is an awesome addition to a burn deck. When you've emptied your hand on your opponent and his/her creatures, Rakdos Pit Dragon practically becomes a Shock on a stick, because you can use its pump ability to deal 2 damage to your opponent (provided you can get in for the direct damage, which is made a lot easier with the activate-able flying ability).

Under the right circumstances, the dragon can do tremendous damage early on with the assistance of a couple of Seething Songs and some burn spells to clear out the blockers.

This card is simply awesome. While he is pretty red mana intensive i would still recommend any rakdos player to run this in their deck. This guy can do obcene amounts of damage when your hellbent and tapping 2 give him flying which will fly over the competition..and did i mention hes pumpable? get it.

When Dissension just game out i vaugley remember in standard that i would play One With Nothing and this guy would just be bigger. A 3/3 hitting for 6 is worth it. And whenever you Earthquake in legacy just give some flying and then you have even less to worry about. But when you meet this card's fullest requirements the real fun begins. A +3/3 flying double striking dragon is a real game swinger, giving it flying with Neurok hoversail or something will save some extra and much need mana to make this guy even bigger and in most cases win the game. Although made for the Rakdos, really it lacks mana extensiveness for being in a pure Rakdos deck,

Yes he is a bit expensive but when looking at most other dragons hes pretty cheap. The double strike possibility makes him worth the four mana should the game progress thus far he is inflatable and can possibly become a flyer and diffcult to block a 3/3 flyer for 4 who can hit for 6 is not a bad card just needs careful consideration when playing him.

very strong actually, but not for a rakdos deck...requires too much red mana for it it to be effective...
