This card, when used properly with a Simic Guildmage, can completely shut down any spells your opponents throw at your creatures. This card is excellent

After a second look this card isn't so bad. Most decks have something that targets creatures, (for example: faith's fetters, mortify, putrefy, pillory of the sleepless) and even if your opponent doesn't want to target anything you get to at least draw that card. Mana cost of 3 is not too much neither.
