Alright, time for me to start rating things again. firemane angel receives a straight up FIVE STARS. the life gain, though small, can win you the game, but that WAS NOT why wizards put the life gain on firemane. the reason it has that gain every turn is to COMBO WITH SEARING MEDITATION. every turn, i gain one, you take two. boros life gain was never mean to be substantial, but it was always good. also, one firemane stopped your life loss from phyrexian arena. new players are being spoiled by 6/5 flyers for 4 with basically a non-existant drawback, (stenchskipper)(rant on that, go ahead and read.) and cant appreciate the finer details and combinations of 6 CMC 4/3 fliers with first strike. that in itself makes it an amazing flier

This baby is one of the best angels if you can get her in the graveyard.1 life per upkeep or whose to say you have 4 of them in your graveyard.Thats what 4 life instead never look down on angels they have saved my butt in man serious games. 5 that out.Firemane forever.

Actually, this is a terrible card for beginners because, no offense to them, but they wouldn't know how to use it properly. This is an expert/professional level card if anything. It really requires expert deck building to use it to its fullest capacity. It's powerful on its own in any light and it's been tearing up the tournament scene with it's part in the Zur's Weirding/Firemane Angel combo. Great possibilities for deck construction with this card.

Those who says that the Firemane's "10 mana return" ability is too expensive don't understand how to use it. Creatures that can return from the grave are very potent in late game because they generate immense amounts of card advantage. Every time your opponent shoot down the Firemane with a Lightning Bolt, he's practically wasting his cards. You continue to gain life over the course of the game, and your opponent keeps wasting his cards to get rid of your single threat. That's basic card advantage right there. Firemane's ability costs so much because it would be unfair otherwise. Compare Firemane Angel to Worldheart Phoenix, and you'll see the point. Worldheart can return as a 4/4 flyer for WUBRG, where the Firemane Angel requires a much more straightforward return cost. Also, Firemane Angel gives you life every turn, compared to the Phoenix which doesn't.

Firemane Angel is a great addition to any red/white deck because it's a flying creature with decent power, and because even after it has left play, it continues to work for you, doing its best to keep you alive.

Firemane Angel can be a really great card for six mana. You gain 1 life per turn in your graveyard or not, and in combination with searing meditation it can be quite deadly. Not only that when you need it you can call it back from your grave yard for ten mana.

a 4/3 with flying can win games. for 6 mana, the chances of that go down by a little. i'm gonna pass off the "return from graveyard to play" ability as a pretty much useless ability. 10 mana is...waay too much. even if late, late *late* game the ability can win for you, that's one time out of like 15 that it was actually relevant. so forget about that for now.
one life per turn is practically nothing. if you have two of these in your graveyard, well, that's a different story. but 2 in your yard isn't happening without dredge or something, which doesn't end up combined with this card too often. sure, it takes away the phyrexian arena drawback, and surely some other things, but in a good deck, it's just not useful.

this can go either way. if you have all your other dragons and angels in other decks and are making another, this works. but who does that? the life gain is all that is great about this

THIS CARD IS OVER RATED yes this card is pretty good in an expert deck but the cost to bring it back is just to much, who has 16 mana to spend on getting a 4/3 back out onto the feild by then the game is probably over anyway the only piont to have this in your deck is the life gainwhich many white cards have anyway

firemane angel is a little overrated in some ways its return cost way to much could be very playable if you have a card with a cheaper return cost or regeneration cost

Yeah the life gain is useless. Comparison cards Angel of Torment (first strike), Exalted (life gain).
If you can use the return ability aka have that much free mana then its okay. Obviously there are much better cards for coming back from the dead.

I would have made it 4/5 for that mana cost especially since its dual colored.

I guess you could use it to pay for a discard cost early (masticore?) and gain life until you have the mana to bring it to life.
