3rd turn: Primal Forcemage
4th turn: Giant Solifuge
Giant Solifuge is in many ways better than Ball Lightning. It has a much easier mana cost to cast, it has Shroud, which protects it from Terror and Lightning Bolts, and lastly, it lacks the "sacrifice xxxx at the beginning of the end step" ability. Giant Solifuge works wonders in a green beatdown deck with Groundbreakers, Primal Forcemages and Uktabi Drakes.

You don't play this when your opponent can easily deal with this. That is why you have other cards like kird ape, scab-clan mauler and burning-tree shaman plus burn to soften them up. This is the killing blow.
Also, if you are playing against control, they wrath of god and everything dies, but guess what. You drop a creature that they can't kill with pinpoint spells, and you put pressure on them to deal with it while you are left to your own plans. I like this card, although Troll Ascetic holds a higher place in my mind.

Drop a bunch of mid game creatures, like scab-clan mauler, kird ape and call of the herd. Your opponent can use wrath of god or damnation to their heart's content, because he's coming down after that, and the only way to stop him, is blow everything up again.

PWNER CARD IN GRULLLLL AND ZOOOOO. Sure its a 4/1 but wow. sure it might die but your going most likely to trample some damage and kill something.

A must have card, can take out a creature, and deal damage your opponent to boot

Very powerful card, especially in the new Zoo deck that's been showing up in Standard tournaments lately. Great card to cast after a well timed Wrath. Some people, like a few above, say it's to easy to kill. You're right, but you have to realize, you opponent will lose at least 1 creature blocking it, and in most cases they probably really needed that creature. If they block it, since, as stated above it does have trample, you're making them lose a card and some life, and you only lose one card. Even though it can't be targeted, it can get pumped from other sources like a Selesnya Guildmage. As per the release of Dissension, you can use the Simic Guildmage to move something like a Moldervine Cloak from one of your creatures onto your Solifuge making it even more deadly. Don't believe me, look it up in Gatherer on the Magicthegathering web site.

An awesome card, provided your opponent doesn't have first strikers...Otherwise a brilliant card!

Too easy to kill with even the weakest of creatures but granted they have nothing out this is really a great card to have.

Giant Solifuge makes way for strong beatdown in the r/g decks with trample and haste, and making it impossible to hit with spells and abilities.

Are you kidding me? Four mana for a 4/1 haste, trample that can't be the target of spells or abilities? This card is overrated. Sure, you'll probably get a couple points of trample damage in but even the weakest of creatures will send it to the graveyard. Four mana is too much for a 4/1.

This is by far the worst beat down card I have ever seen. How about I play r/g, and you play r/g with this guy, and we shall see who the victor is.
