I think this is one of those underused awesome cards, that people just neglect solely because of it's mana cost. Bloodthirst in and of itself isn't a very good ability, however, that X there can be very helpful. And, since this card is just green, and not green and red, it can be played in a Simic Deck, which can deals LOTS of damage per turn.

There is nothing wrong with 6 mana when u could just use a few shocks and you got a 9/9 protection from instants. And you don't have to worry about it being countered. This is great in a Gruul deck or even just a red and green deck.

This is a fun card that takes what bloodthirst is supposed to be and makes it on a tough creature to stop. Although tough to pay for this can be seen through the use of mana elves and they little snakes that produce soo much mana really quick. Even better after you just smacked your opponent for alittle bit of damage (say four) then you use a few other damage spells, and you have a huge hard to stop creature.
