For 2(R), you give your creature a permanent +0/+2. You may be thinking "Giant Strength is better and it costs less" but the advantage Stonehands has is, is that it acts like firebreath. "But fire breath is a lot cheaper" you say.
Look, Red does not have a lot of cards that boost toughness, and some creatures benefit from the permanent boost. Sure, its cheaper to use Giant Strength and Fire breath, but thats 2 seperate cards, meaning your giving up 2 cards in your hand instead of one.
