This is essentially a Grizzly Bear that has the potential to become a kickered beating. That is why it's a 5. It takes another card, Grizzly Bear and makes it so much better with the kicker ability. It's like a freaking swiss army knife that can be a bazooka.

2/2 body for 2CMC is standard vanilla power, but it's real power lies in your Metagame. Becoming a 5/5 Trampler for 5CMC is nothing to scoff at, and being green you can just mana ramp into it much sooner than turn 5. Overall the Kicker ability was kinda weak, and only served in Metagame (minus Orim's Chant and a few others)
