I play gifts rock in extended, so this card in conjunction with creatures like Eternal Witness and Genesis make for very powerful hand control. This card is great as a card to pull out for Gifts Ungiven with Eternal Witness, Genesis, and Duress. In the first or second turn of a game, if you Duress, then you Cabal Therapy naming something you know they have, you have basically wrecked their hand.

Always loved this card, but now I love it even more with cards like Gitaxian Probe, Gravecrawler or Bloodsoaked Champion in the mix

brutal. just brutal. play with 'nether spirit' and 'rotlung reanimator' and 'withered wretch.' oh, sorry. my deck is a mono black 1.5 discard deck with 16 creatures and 'nevinyrral's disk.' this card brought discard decks back to the forefront and made the aforementioned not only stronger but more flexible. and the art is incredible especially on the foil. everything a black card should be and then some. the only reason it doesn't score a five star rating is because in the crucial beginning of a game can be much harder to call out your opponent. otherwise, in every respect, a great great card. hard not to gush over this card as it and 'withered wretch' totally brought (for me) black..back into 1.5. recommend highly..........

While not as good as Duress, this card still has use. It may be more of a backup card, used after you get a peek at your opponent's hand but its flashback ability can make it twice as harmful to your opponent.
