it has the same mana cost as dark confidant, harder to get rid of, and may choose to pay life or just pick the card you need most. and best of all, it's still at affordable price.

This card is OK, I guess, but I'd rather use Mirri's Guile, or Sensei's Divining Top, or even the under-rated Primitive Etchings.
