I win third or fourth turn consistently with this. Especially if I can get a smokebraider out first turn (Simian Spirit Guide for example.) Turn 1 Smokebraider. Turn 2 tap smokebraider, pay 2, champion smokebraider. Turn 3, attack with Nova Chaser and Double Cleave. Game over.

I would say turn one Harbinger, turn two Dolmen Gate, turn three Chase the hell out of 'em. Nuff said

This is one of the only cards you cannot chump effectively. Power of ten and trample gives it all the damage it needs, and cards like overblaze can end the game incredibly early if the opponent does not see it coming. Even if it is blocked by a 2/2, an overblaze will have it deal 16 points. What burn deck is so bad that it can't deal 4 after such a quick start? The most obvious choice to champion is a harbinger, but there are tons of "comes into play" creatures with the standard elemental evoke.

This card is amazing, if you champion your Flamekin Harbinger, attack with this (it'll die) your opponent should take lots of trample damage or give up a bunch of his creatures trying to stop the trample damage. Then you can search for something else (a Horde Of Notions or maybe even another Nova Chaser) Anyway...this card is awesome.

turn 1-flamekin harbinger (search for nova chaser)
turn 2-smokebraider
turn 3-nova chaser (champion the harbinger)
turn 4-attack with the chaser for serious damage and if it dies search libary
for another elemental after harbinger resolves from being championed
(hostility anyone (or another chaser))
best way to counter it is indominatble ancients a 2/10 treefolk for 4 mana

I've won so many games with this card, it makes my head spin. I knew it would be fun but not this amazingly effective. In a properly built Elemental deck, getting a Nova Chaser out between turns two and four happens consistenly from one game to the next. This giant beatstick will make any and all opponents blurt out expletives when you play it... long before they've been able to work up the mana to stop it. Sure, a 10/2 may die if it gets blocked by a weenie, but this trampler can still bash over any tiny creature's pitiful defenses to make your opponent weep early and often. And for the mana cost, I see zero reason to complain about this card. Chase up its defense with some one turn, one mana pumps (Brute Force, anyone?) and slide a few permanent stat increase creatures/enchants into the deck to ensure that extra yard of effectiveness and you've got one blistering force to be reckoned. Outstanding in every possible aspect. My favorite Lorwyn rare.

Big bad Nova Chaser's a 10/2, which means it'sa huge beatstick....that can probably only get one hit off. I see this go great with combos of the Incandescent Soulstoke kind. If you can get him out on turn two or three it's a definite game swinger. Late game you might as well say bye as you play him.

couldn't decide between 3 or 4 stars. its interesting. unfortunately it can rolls over to shock and all the other standard burn. either that or it gets chumped and gets in a decent amount of damage and then perishes. if it had haste that would make me moist
