Serra Ascendant

Turn 1 6/6 with flying and lifelink is stupidly threatening even if you start with 40 life. "But it''s only one card", you say, and yes, this is true, however, in a format where single-target removal is rare, Serra Ascendant will often get 3-4 turns to attack before someone has enough mana to throw a Wrath effect at it, assuming they drew one.This card is consistently doing at least 12 - and sometimes upwards of lethal - damage if you draw it early and no one draws an answer. You can confidently put it in every white EDH deck you own and be sure that the damage that the Ascendant is capable of doing will win you its fair share of games.

Totally broken in EDH format. My friends won't let me play with it in my EDH deck unless the trigger is modified to be 60 life to trigger, same with Felidar Sovereign (80 life instead of 40 life for upkeep win) because EDH life total is twice that of a normal format, but I think it's BS!!! I mean in EDH you only have 1 copy of anything so it's not like it will always come out!?
