While its not as good as a shockland simply because its not a basic land type. Getting multiples of this and not being able to make a basic land drop would happen very infrequently. This very good and I rather play this then Brushland in most decks. It gets a 5 out of 5 for being really good. I won't just compare every card to the shocklands because it isnt fair

I love these new lands. They really help out the manabase and they don't hurt it that much either. Also with this land, we might see some more decks playing Terramorphic Expanse.

true, you cant dual out the gate with a first turn play like the other duals, but if you drop either of your basic types first turn, and you run these next to filters, you still never have to worry about color again, and better yet, your deck actually doesnt commit teralistic suicide. ive always disliked the idea of being killed by my lands, and this is an incredible way to avoid it. i will be playing these clear through their extended reign.

so now we know that the infamous 'golden lotus' is actually just a sub par dual land. i was hoping for one we could use on the first turn, but instead we get this. as other dual lands rotate out clearly this will be more sought after, but it still pales compared to the shock lands.
