DescriptionCode of the Orzhov Sealed Guildpact Theme Deck

The Orzhov know how to get what they want they bleed it out of their victims. Slo-o-owly. While playing the Code of the Orzhov deck, you'll strip away all opposing threats while you gradually, relentlessly pick away at your opponent's life total. There's nothing more satisfying to members of the Orzhov than being in complete control of the suffering inflicted on their enemies.

Your first order of business is to set up your defenses. Once you play Souls of the Faultless or Hissing Miasma, or you grant one of your creatures regeneration with Strands of Undeath, your opponent may find that attacking you just isn't worth it! By using your spells to remove select creatures that threaten your affairs, you'll bring the game to a halt. That's when the bleeding begins.

This deck's route to victory is to chip away at your opponent little by little. How? Attack with your 1/1 flying creatures, such as Belfry Spirit (and its batty friends) and Mourning Thrull. Use Orzhova, the Church of Deals to swing a stalemate into your favor. Let Agent of Masks and Blind Hunter do your dirty work for you. The best part of this plan is that the life you squeeze out of your opponent usually winds up padding your own life total.

The haunt ability lets you use some of your best abilities twice: once in life, and once in death. Belfry Spirit and Blind Hunter, for example, both help you from beyond the grave. If you haunt one of your own creatures, you can sacrifice that creature to Plagued Rusalka or Teysa, Orzhov Scion at an opportune time to get that bonus ability right when you need it! With haunt on your side, the longer the game goes on, the better shape you'll be in.

To take this deck to the next level, add more of the cards you see helping you win games. Pillory of the Sleepless is a perfect example: It stops a creature and it bleeds your opponent. Other Orzhov cards from the Guildpact set can also improve your deck. Orzhov Pontiff can make your deck much more aggressive, while the diabolical Ghost Council of Orzhova provides a nearly unkillable 4/4 body, more ways to sacrifice your creatures, and more opportunities to drain your opponent's life. When you're beating your opponent a point at a time, every point matters.

Lord of the Pit, Sanguine Bond, Proper Burial. This combination will slowly and eventually kill your opponent while you gain life. You could also put Grave Pact in there if you wanted to make it even more fun. Good deck overall if you add some cards to it.

This deck kicks the crap out of most others. In all my tests, the only time i have beaten it is with a red blue deck with all but 4 creatures ripped out so a bunch of the cards are worthless. i suspect that a white deck with healing could beat it though. I would go with a red white deck to heal and do direct damage but other than that it dominates. It seems like a good deck in a free for all but if your opponents know the deck, they will gang up on you so it really isn't. Great deck.

This is one of the best decks to play in free for all group play! I played this deck in stock form in both group and 1 on 1 and could not be beat. Nothing like seeing the frustration on an opponent's face when he realizes that he has X turns to take you out! You and your opponent(s) will be on the edge of your seats as the game plays out.

This deck is awesome! You can sacrifice bat tokens like crazy after you get Skeletal Vampire in play, and you can pay some mana to sacrifice them to your rusalkas, and with Teysa out, its even better. Also you can easily take out a few mana to put in extra mortifys and castigates, which, for me, earns this deck five stars easily. Oh, and the pillory of the sleepless are kick butt cards too.

This is a good deck, but it takes a strategic mind to use it. It takes a few changes to make it really good, but when you do, it's worth it. I wouldn't recomend it for begginers though. If you like playing with your opponents, and never letting them have a moment of peace while slowly and steadily drain their life, this is the deck for you.

This is a great bleeder deck, i would suggest having experience playing magic before you get this deck and buy Guild Council of the Orzhov and Pillory the Sleepless to add to it.

This is a great deck if your skilled enough to use it i would take out the poison belly ogres though they are useless i put in blood crypt and took out a swamp then i put in proper burial which when your monsters go to the graveyard you gain the life equal to there toughness. Grave pact is a great card to put into this deck when ever a creature you control goes to the graveyard your opponet sacrafices a creature. Combined that with death pit offering which you sacrafice all th creatures you control and from now on your creatures get +2/+2

This deck is okay. I think skelatal vampire is pointless because it cost too much when you try to put new bat token into play to regenerate him. Otherwise, it's a good deck. I'd add Divinity Of Pride to this deck.

Its a good deck, but its not that good against other decks with health gaining cards, like sacred nector.

this deck is a fun deck to play but not the most tuff. dont get me wrong it can be threatening at times but it takes a little skill so I would not recommend it for a first deck.

the deck perfroms what it says it wil perform very well. The deck uses it multifarious options to its advantage really well. The deck also delivers on it's promise to end the game slowly, grinding the game to a halt. Haunt can be very fun at times, but not so much in other. I LOVE TEYSA! she is the one of the best cards in the deck in my opionion. The others being hissing miasma, pillory of the sleepless, skelatal vampire and agent of masks. However, the deck has some randon strategies that would be more fitting of a golgari deck than a orzhov deck. the 2 thoughtpiker witch, 1 plauged rulksa, 1 martyred rulksa were the key compotents in that strategy. this is deck is 70% awesome

Wow. This is not the way I went with my Orzhov deck. Mine moves fast and vicious. Like turn six game over: fast. Once you get Hissing Miasma out, you can slow things down if you want.

    But Why?

Worth buying for the for sure rares and uncommons I guess though...
