DescriptionIzzet Gizmometry Sealed Guildpact Theme Deck

The Izzet Gizmometry deck does what the mad Izzet scientist-wizards do best: Whip up tons of nasty instants and sorceries with explosive results! This deck is jam-packed with instant and sorcery spells, many of which can copy themselves thanks to replicate. Nearly all the creatures in the deck reward you when you play instants and sorceries as well! The replicated copies won't trigger your creatures' abilities, but who cares? You're getting tons of extra spells! It all adds up to an avalanche of magical craziness that'll bury your opponent.

Early in the game, your goal is just to stay alive as you play out your lands. Spells like Electrolyze, Repeal, and Runeboggle all help keep the board clear of annoying attackers while drawing you valuable extra cards. When you can, start deploying your creatures. Gelectrode, Tibor and Lumia, and the enchantment Leyline of Lightning all let you deal extra damage each time you play an instant or sorcery. If you can zap an enemy creature, great! If instead you have to zap your opponent, great! Wee Dragonauts is your main route to victory depending on how many spells you play, they can bash in for 3, 5, or even 7 damage a turn.

Once you've built up your lands, you can use all that mana to copy your replicate spells a bazillion times. Replicate spells are flexible enough to be good both early in the game and late. Don't hesitate to play Pyromatics or Thunderheads to kill a single enemy creature if you don't have enough mana to replicate them.

Izzet Chronarch is the deck's secret weapon: It lets you pull the exact instant or sorcery you need out of your graveyard. For extra trickiness, use Peel from Reality or Vacuumelt to return Izzet Chronarch and one of your opponent's creatures to their owners' hands, then replay the Chronarch to get that particular spell back. You can keep your opponent's best creature off the table forever.

Like one of the Izzet's mad experimenters, you can customize this deck in a variety of ways. You can combine more Wee Dragonauts and Gelectrodes with cheap card drawing like the Ninth Edition set'sSleight of Hand to churn out bonus damage as fast as possible. Or you can add more Guildpact Izzet cards, like Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. It's a lot like a Gelectrode . . . that's also a legendary flying 4/4 card-drawing Dragon!

izzet gizmometry is an exellent deck.is difficult to use and it needs a lot of patient and experience to know when to strike.a really enjoyable deck, and i have never lost with it.if you replace it with some cheaper counters and put some m10 instants. it will be godlike.

The problems with this deck are the lack of creatures and mana problems. Throw in some lands, Djinn Iluminatus, Niv Mizzet Firemind, some cheap counters and burns and this deck can be absolutely lethal!

This deck is decent alone, but for it to realy dominate other decks you need to weed out some of the over mana-absorbing spells in it, like pyromatics. ONe of this red/blue's strengths is being able to deal with any creature effieintly: red spells wipe up swaarms of small monsters well (especialy the ones in this deck) while blue deals with trickier creatures that you cant just kill with one red spell, and cards like pyromatics are incredibly inefficient at doing either of these things compared to other cards. This deck is a decent start, but for it to really shine you need to replace ineffient spells with others, and let your their weaknesses get covered up by other cards. Also, with Izzet a large hand means you are either not drawing lands or are probably winning.

I picked up the Izzet Gizmometry deck a while ago and let me say that while in it's stock form you'll lose most of the time unless you can get a good starting hand, you'll have a blast with the spells. You WILL need a lot of mana and you WILL take a lot of damage early on, but if you can survive a couple turns your spells will start flying. One of my favorite combos was to play Izzet Chronarch to get a sorcery/instant I needed from the graveyard, then play Peel from Reality to return it and an opponent's creature to their respective hands. Then you can just keep juggling those cards to keep your opponent's best creature off the field while getting Peel from Reality back to your hand again and again! This deck really takes off when you max out Izzet Chronarch, Peel from Reality, Wee Dragonauts (your main attackers), and Gelectrodes (if you've got four out, that's a potential 8 damage per turn to any creature or player if you play just 1 instant or sorcery...if you play 3, that's 24 damage! -madness!). Even though it's a bit weak on creatures, it's got a lot of potential and it's a lot of fun to play!

I'm surprised so many people say this deck loses. I beat my friend many times against a variety of decks that were current and prior to Izzit. You can clean it up considerably by dumping the counter spells that come in the deck for better ones and adding some of the free cards from "Time Drain" (which was a crummy deck). I thought it was a lot of fun.

All in all, not a bad deck. It doesn't beat the zombie deck I'd built a couple years ago (all from hand, and now I can't find it anywhere! =(( ), and it was a little difficult to use at first, but the more I've used it, the more comfortable I've gotten with it. As I said earlier, a pretty good deck overall.

Its defintly a good theme deck, I bought this deck to start as my main deck and I started taking away some cards like train of thought cuz i didnt need em but leyline of lightning is extremly good just cause even if you play a blue spell u still get some damage out. the reason there arent that many creature cards is because u shouldnt need to cuz ur tapping your oppenents creatures every chance you get and ur doing ur dmg from ur burn cards. my deck won 2 local torunaments and i havnt found any anti decks for it besides the affinity for artifacts deck once, but that was because the assface had a black lotus in his hand from the beggining. But if you like the idea of just dealing direct damage and not letting your oppenent do anything this is a good deck. Not good for beginers tho

Izzet Gizmometry Theme Deck does not win my vote on best theme deck, as you can tell. It needs a few changes before it can actually challenge well-built custom decks. Even though, this is got to be one of the best decks throughout the Guild series that I have played; but Its a shame that I have to give it three out of five stars. I would give it four if it could of beat a well-built Black and Blue Artifact deck. Although, I have played them against the Code of Orzhov and Gruul Wielding, I haVE come out on top if I got the right starting hand; won against the Orzhov deck 2/3 and won against Gruul Wielding 4/4 times.

if you had four black lotus cards then this deck will be better. replicate is useless if you dont have the mana

Ok, replicate is a great concept and many players (myself included) were drawn to this deck with the thoughts of all kinds of multi-targeting one card spells, but the simple fact is that the Izzet deck cannot compete. You need A LOT of mana to really use the replicate spells effectively and the lack of solid creatures make lasting long enough to replicate almost impossible. The other two decks in this expansion are far far better.

this deck stinks. i would ideally give it .0000005 stars. it taakes too much mana to be effective. seriously my fae deck has 18 lands and 42 spells, and wins almost every time. my record is 12wins,3losses, and it takes 7 turns to beat an opponent if you get the right cards. the problem with needing all that land is that you have less places for the other cards u need. go by code of the orzhov its great.
