The way I see it, if you haven't played a land yet in your turn, you can return two islands you already tapped for mana, play Gush, draw two cards, and return one of the Islands to play as your land-drop, giving you 2 cards and 1 extra mana for free. Even better with Asuza, Lost but Seeking, which allows you to return both Islands to play.
