This was the card that won me my first game. It's pretty good, but removing your deck is harsh. I personally love it because it's a gamble, who knows maybe I might get played once I put it down or I'll whoop some.

this card would be good with Shared Fate... where you play off each others deck... and yours is rfg so they are sol.
Also I'm not sure how it would work but it might be good with the new 2008 holiday promo (Evil Presents) if your playing casual.

I'm thinking about making a bounce (Vedalken Mastermind) deck with a couple of these and riftsweepers.. playing this combo would have many potentially deadly flaws but id basically be playing with a stacked deck. I'm also looking for cards with real nice effects that are removed from the game upon use that I would exploit over and over.. One other cheap card that I plan to use in this deck if Demonic Consultation which is a cheap demonic tutor basically that would work real nice with riftsweepers. It will be a fun lil experiment.

I use this with Colfenor's Plans. Nothing great, but I usually drop a whispersilk cloak and a leaden Myr or two early, then play Colfenors Plans, drop my Leveler and equip the cloak.

I have to admit this card is just huge. Give it haste with dragon breath, just add feldon's cane if you're not sure you can win this turn and to finish it all off... use bösium strip. Your opponent will turn green, as did mine.
Can you give it trample? maybe with Primal Rage. True: this is a lot of setup to play one card, but all you really need is Dragon Breath to make this one work.

Come on, use your imagination! this card is great! How many creatures can live through a battle with a 10/10 ? Here are three cards that will garentee you a win: 1. Vorrac Battlehorns 2. Beacon of Tomorrows 3. leveler. build up your mana and play Leveler. Then play a Beacon of Tomorrows and shuffle it into your library. Next turn equip the battlehorns to the Leveler (to prevent gang-up bloking) and draw the beacon. Keep on attaking and taking a extra turn untill you win.

This card would be good with endless whispers or confusion in the ranks. Endless whispers so it comes into opponents play when it's destroyed, and goes to the graveyard so just bring it out destroy it and bam your opponent has no library to draw they lose. Also good with Phage when it comes into play on the other players side they lose bc it wasn't played from their hand.

Nice card, Leveler combos with Tel-Jilad Stylus and Beacon of Destruction. The stylus states card you own!!!! so when you library is removed use stylus ability and put Beacon of Destruction on bottom of library (which is the top). play Beacon of Destruction each turn!

This is for anyone that thinks like Jim from Madison. You would destroy or sack Leveler into your graveyard then endless whispers will give it to your opponent. Then your turn is done your opponents turn starts with no library and they lose the game . Easy as that. You can end this quickly with 1st turn despotic scepter,2nd turn dark ritual+endless whisper.3rd turn dark ritual+Leveler (game over)you can moligan to improve you chances of this draw,But you should expect 7th turn win normally bypassing any technical opsticals your opponent sets up.

guys,guys,guys...this cards is good. i found it good enough to build a deck around, it took me maybe 30 seconds to find a loophole around his TRIGGERED(not activated) ability. remeber stifle? a blue instant from scourge, that cost one blue mana? check it out its worth it. i personally like to use this "leveler deck" and put select cards into my graveyard then play leveler and just use my graveyard for a library, u allways know whats in it. i just like the look on my opponents face when i bring one out, and do use a stifle then clone them. guys, its a 10/10 for five mana of any color. dont try to tell me its not playable.

Well yeah, it's a very cheap 10/10, but you need something else to make it work. Try Mass Hysteria and Pandemonium for an instant 20 damage, or maybe Pandemonium and Furnace of Rath.
I could imagine a red deck with Pandemonium, Mass Hysteria, Cosmic Larvae, Leveler, some burn (Lightning Bolt & co.), Seething Song and perhaps Furnace of Rath.

Awesome only in the right build. Use with(High Tide)Stifle, Trickbind if you're into Blue control. Endless Whispers the only thing I can think for Black, but it's an instant win condition; I also run Colfenor's Plans in it and it works fairly well--Pretty much the only deck it works in, LOL! Obstinate Familiar for Red, so that you 'may' choose not to draw. And if you have the Bankroll, use Illusionary Mask; when you turn it over and pay it's X, unless you already have before-hand, it wouldn't have come into play...Although Phyrexian Dreadnought + Illusionary Mask is the ultimate.

Ah, I see, Timothy. I thought the guy above was saying Endless Whispers would somehow allow you to play the cards removed from the game when you played Leveler. I have seen a surprising number of people try to do this, and I assumed he was trying to do the same thing. Thanks for clarifying.

it's a pretty good card if you can get cards back into your library. i mean, it's a 10/10 for only 5

If you want to use this card, black has morality shift which swaps graveyard to library, costs 7 mana to play.

This card is peculier. I have 1 and tried putting it in decks. The only thing to me it worked well in was a massive equipment deck with 4 Platinum Angels. Platinum Angels prevent you from loosing. Equip an Angel with lightning greaves, bring 1 or 2 of theese out. and you've got a 10/10. (Equip Leveler with another lightning greaves for more fun)

With all the spells that let you avoid drawing a card and instead cause effects to yourself or others, the downside of this simply requires being prepared to use it.

Overall this is a great card... if you play it right. The key is to use it as a kind of trump card in a blue deck. Just save it till near the end, remove your library from the game, and then play a reminisce to that your graveyard becomes your library!

Use Obstinate Familiar so you can skip drawing. Necropotence is another way. Yawgmoth's Bargain, Island Sanctuary, Colfenor's Plans.
The way I use this now (casual deck of course) is Quest for Ancient Secrets, I mill myself like crazy with Cephalid Illusionist targeting it with Shuko, then equipping something else, then back again to mill my whole library(Use Narcomoeba in any U self milling deck, they rock)... Then drop him turn 5--pass. At the end of your turn sac the Quest for Ancient Secrets to rebuild my library. I only built the deck on a challenge; friend saying this card could never be used... Well I proved him wrong!

Why do people have such a hard time understanding the difference between "removed from the game and "in the graveyard" ? These are 2 very different things, so you cannot use Reminisce, Feldon's Cane, Endless Whispers, or anything else that refers to cards in your graveyard with Leveler, because it doesn't put your library in the graveyard, it removes it from the game. Please help spread the word, because there are way too many clowns trying to get away with this funny business.

honestly of course theres ways to use it or they wouldnt hav printed it
but it still isnt that great 1010 it needs trample-plus u hav to work out some combo-wat if u dont draw the rite card 4 it?
theres other cards like that that are much better 2 name 1-eater of days 98 flying trample for 4 lands and u skip ur next 2 turns. u can stifle that 2 and dampening matrix works just as well-but even if u dont hav any of those u can still use it. plus 98 flying trample is better than 1010 2 begin with
summary-levler is bad-dont buy it

Come on you would loose your library and wouldn't have enough cards to finish the game.

If i ever see this card used by anyone my eyes will burn out. My shirt will become an undead warlord that will procede to raise an army of the dead. I hate it, unless you use reminice. Potencial, but it is still hard to use...well

u cannot use reminisce to bring back ur graveyard...all the cards are "removed" from the game.
overall this card can be put into a deck if played correctly...but it just takes too many pieces of the puzzle to get it to work.

this card is pointless. When it removes your library from the game you automatically lose next turn. It doesn't even have haste to allow it to attack.
