Fireblast, Rift Bolt, Flame Rift(Multiplayer), and Cinder Pyromancer all make this creature a BEAST~ Of course there are tons of other options I just mentioned things off the top of my head...

War Elemental should be a standart addition to every casual/extended burn decks... I mean, come on! Every Lightning Bolt you cast gives this guy a permanent +3/+3!! Imagine casting Browbeat with this guy in play, or even just Blazing Salvo! O_O
You could even choose to play this with a couple of Brute Force to protect it from your opponents' burn spells, or you could use equipments such as Slagwurm Armor & other stuff.

A must in any deck that uses Lightning Bolts, Shocks and so on. Seismic Assult + this card and a few extra mountains makes a nice combo.
