This has to be one of my most favored cards in the game. Ever since I first saw it, I wanted to put it in a deck. Now with Scars of Mirrodin and Magic 2011, I can actually make a practical deck with it! Besides serving as a nice 0 drop blocker or a cheap card to sacrifice/bounce, ornithopter has some other nice combos. For one, it helps get metalcraft off sooner in the game. Another good use is with Steel Overseer, which can pump him up fast. And the final is with Tempered Steel which will boost him by +2/+2, so a 0 drop 2/4!
So a deck with Ornithoper, his close relative Memnite, Steel Overseer, Tempered Steel, and Proliferate/Metalcraft cards can be pretty mean... Also it has several nice artworks and doesn’t cost much either!

Having gotten 4 in starting hand, its priceless.
Now, play the Ornithopters with some Darksteel Forge's out and a World Slayer.
Back when 0 was damage life was good. Controlling the field, suck a pain in the but move.
Anyways, any artifact deck NEEDS orni, no exceptions.

Imagine getting four of those in your starting hand. The look on your opponents face would be priceless. This is possibly my favorite magic card.

All artifact affinity decks must have, at least, 2 or 3.

GREAT card only because it is a 0 2 flier for thr great cost of only zero mana. In my opinion great card and should be considered in any deck.

Don't be fooled by the size of an Ornithopter. I've often been able to deal five damage by the second turn with one. The key is Unholy Strength or Shuko(or Rancor if your oldschool like me), on turn one, followed by Giant growth or Monsterous Growth on turn two. Build an all commons deck around this card and you will go far.
