This is one of the best cards in the game, combined with other cards: turn 1 mox, a land and this for tinker. turn 2, drop a land, play the tinker for a darksteel colossus, and well...that's pretty much game. Of course, there's also ponder, brainstorm, ancestral recall, etc. I'm not at all surprised that this was restricted. who cares if it's a sorcery?! half of the time it doesn't make any difference whether it's an instant or a sorcery.

This card should read search for target Ancestral Recall..... If you have any knowledge of Type 1 then you know how incredibly broken this card is.

now its restricted........ and its not cause of ancestral recall. No one even stated the obvious here. Ever think that this kinda equates to 8 force of will per vintage deck? ohhhhh $hi+ huh??? how about fetch me my echoing truth? clear the way for a game winning swing? yeah no more 4 brainstorm, ponder, gush or this guy......tooooooo bad for type 1. Now we start thinking.

Yes it may be a sorcery, but so is demonic tutor. This is still a tutor for 2 mana. Not nearly as good as demonic or others, but still it's good.

Except you can't use this to search for Tinker. Still a decent card though and from Homelands? My word.

Indeed. Even Homelands has a few playable cards -- this in particular, the World's Cheapest Tutor (in terms of real-world price, not mana, though its mana price isn't that bad either). Go tutor for target Ancestral Recall already -- although there's something ironic about using a one-dollar card to pull up your thousand-dollar one...
