Not as quick as Maze of Ith, but this gives you a mana at least so you're not a turn behind your opponent.

yeah, have fun comming up with 2 mana to activate this ability (plus the land itself) vs. a turn 1 creature w/ haste.

play with two of these in a monowhite "legacy" deck. i would really like to play with 'maze of ith' , but that particular land doesn't tap for mana. also, when playing the 'maze..' i have to miss a mana producing land drop. this land also differs in that the targeted creature stays tapped while doing no damage.... i mainly play with 'kor haven' for protection against "hasted" creatures in reanimation decks or creatures with protection from everything (although usually not lands!). anyway, and in conclusion, i believe this land is a bit underrated and overlooked as of this writing and fits quite nicely in some decks if you care to give it a try.....ciao!
