I've only gotten this to work in my favor with telepathy, otherwise they always put in a Tarmagoyf or some other mean hitter with really low CMC and basically use my turn for a free creature drop, then attack me w/ it the next turn... :(
In the right build I say this card has great potential, combined with telepathy you can watch what's in their hand and drop a Darksteel or an Eldrazi once they've got no more creatures in hand or are top decking.
