A rather solid planeswalker. THe main reason I only give him 4 stars is his Converted Mana Cost. However, in my Green/Black Modern deck I built, I have no problem using him at all. Using Wild Pair and some cheap Undying creatures, I blockade my opponent while drawing precisely what i want with Soul of the Harvest and Harvester of Souls, and then restart the game as soon as I can. I managed to restart the game with Vorinclex, the Voice of Hunger, Griselbrand and Rampaging Baloths. Needless to say, it was game over.

So many people underestimate the power of this card. The way I see it, you shouldn't be targeting your opponent with his first ability, you should be targeting yourself without, then restart the game later with anything you've exiled. Use Fauna Shaman to tutor some awesome creatures and exile them, or maybe you have a big Jace in your hand? Might be real fun to restart with him immediately on the board...

You are all missing the potential!!!! forget about what's in their hand. think of what is in yours! What I would like to do is exile an emrakul and ulamog from my hand and start the game with them on the field. obviously if you run mono green with primeval titans you should have no problem hardcasting either. i'm thinking a U/W Control with counterspells and spellskite to protect him. then BAM! i have two Eldrazi and you're S*** out of Luck!

A planeswalker that can be powered by the Urzatron~~ Urza Lands combined with Expedition Map = Urza Tron active by turn 3-4 Very consistantly. He's a beast, what were the card designers' thinking?? Atleast with Nicol Bolas he has {UBBR} in the cost and only comes with 5+

I can't belive more people do not realize the potential of this card. In an Eldrazi ramp deck, for example, you could potentially get Karn out on turn 4 and then exile an Emrakul from your hand. Then two turns later you start the game with Emrakul on the feild. I don't how you would loose in that situation.

I don't know were to start? Two turns then a game reset while controling a all cards exiled by karn and karn now has 14 "counters" on him, there are so many potentialy deadly combo's this plains walker can bring out, it should be fun playing with him.

I know someone at work who decided to start playing MTG when the New Phyrexia came out. She went to Wal-mart and bought two boosters. She pulled a Karn and a Sword of War and Peace. SHe said she had a knack for things like that. Needless to say, I brought her to a local comic book store, and now Im a proud owner of Karn, after my third booster bought there. I love his ultimate, works out great if you exile the right cards.

I've always enjoyed reading everyone's pre-release stories about them pulling a new planeswalker or some awesome mythic and how they used it, and now its my turn! lol The first game I used Karn I was going up against infect creatures, using a mix of his plus and minus abilities then I somehow built him up to 14 at the beginning of my upkeep with 9 poison counters. I restarted the game with two of her creatures under my control from the start. I love Karn, but to really get him to 14 you really need to back him up. The game's are ending faster thanks to the whole scars block, so relying on Karn to win the day shouldn't be your Plan A, B, or even C.

Went to the pre release for the set won 2 lost 2 matches got a pack pulled a batterskull, was happy decided before i left id buy a pre con take out the pack open it and pulled this bad boy holo. Anyways hes pretty d**n good i mean his first ability gives +4 which helps him from any burn style cards. His -3..you don't like a card? get rid of it. Use his last ability to restart the game with a good to ridiculous advantage. I give him a 4 because even though it gives +4 for his ability he costs 7 to play (which with artifacts and some mana ramp u can pull turn 4-5) you still have to wait three turns to pop his last ability and even then it's not the best idea cause the exiled cards might not be too great.

A bit expensive. Abilities are wicked. Plus ingame reset (you of course getting the huge advantage.). Will run it with Koth.

He'll be fun in casual play but that's about it. First ability lets your opponent choose which card they exile which is bad. I could let you exile a preordain, or even funnier an everflowing chalice you wont be able to use when you use Karn's ultimate. Second ability is by far the best since you choose what to exile, but you need to choose something you can use with your deck. So if your not running rdw Koth will be useless, and if you're not using a lot of artifacts Tezzeret will be useless, etc. His final ability which people claim is broken is not. Like I said his first ability lets your opponent choose what you exile with Karn and could give you absolute crap. Yeah it restarts the game but that means both your and your opponent are at 20 life again and you wasted a seven mana, several turns, and tons of time to get nothing.

Great card abilities, but for the ever growing speed of type 2 he just doesn't cut it. Other environments will also pass him over due to his cost. But Commander or casual may see him as useful in the end. Karn got the abilities he deserved, but at such a steep cost...Think about it he lost his world and he cost 7 that is pretty costly lol.
