7 mana for a 6/6 trample is pretty decent I say, but what is really broken about this card is its Flashback cost. Wild Mongrel suddenly starts making sense when combined with cards like this. That's one HELL of a beatdown surprise, even in today's standart! :D

Roar of the wurm is a freaking amazing card. turn one careful study(that gets rid of 2 wurms) turn two wild mongrel(discard even more wurms) turn 3 drop some free basking rootwalla turn 4 FLASH A WURM.....a 6/6 for 4 mana and 1 green at that so it splashes good. any dumbass who says roar of the wurm is bad is a friggen nim rod. 2 words people........Mad Dog

You would play a friggin riptide replicator over this? Have you been living under a rock, ROTW has been one of the most dominant cards in the game in odyssey block and can even be ported respectably into Extended. Crush of Wurms my rear end.

Some people are really stupid.....the point isn't to hardcast the roar for 7 mana, your supposed to discard it to something. New blue green decks that are out use roars and the key is to either use a mongrel, looter, careful study or some other discard engine, and if you don't think 4 mana for a 6/6 is good then you don't know anything about magic

It is obvious that some people do not play in tournaments. Roar of the Wurm is one of the most commonly used cards in all decks currently. A 6/6 for 4 mana, can your Riptide Replicator or your Crush of Wurms boast that? I think not. In the big leagues, it is all about speed, which is why literally no one plays the cards mentioned above as a substitute and everyone plays these. Notice how they are out of stock. A 6/6 for 4 mana... not to mention that discarding a card usually buys you an advantage, so discard for a cool ability and 3rd turn, with some acceleration put a 6/6 into play, trust me... I would pay all 230 cents for this card, if they had it to sell to me. 5 stars, go buy your riptide replicator, and lose before you get it out.

There are two great combos for this card. First turn you can cast entomb. Then second turn play catalyst stone and on your third turn you got a 6/6 in play. The other strategy is to play quiet speculation (second turn). Next, third turn play catalyst stone and with 4 mana on your fourth turn have 2 6/6 in play, with one still waiting for your next turn. The only card that can counter these strategies is tombfire-(remove all cards with flashback in target players graveyard from the game).

It's starting price is pretty steep but even if your opponent counters it you get a 6/6 for 4 mana!

Wow, one 6/6!! Great! no matter what you say, this card sucks! Have you ever heard of riptide replicator??? Crush of Wurms??? Phyrexian Processor. I wouldn't pay 1 cent for it... Heck i wouldn't even want it for free!
