Mercenary Knight is one of those cards that just screams, COMBO. People look at this card all wrong. Discarding a creature from your hand can be a serious benefit. For example, let's say you cast Mercenary Knight on turn three. In your hand you have a Breath of Life, an Ebon Dragon, and a Serpent Warrior. Which card would you discard? In this case you should discard your Ebon Dragon, and then cast Breath of Life on it next turn. Not only will you have the 4/4 knight in play, but you will also get your dragon out on turn four. I truely like the Mercenary Knight.
