I think this would combo pretty well with landfall mechanic. Run things like Steppe Lynx, Plated Geopede, Bloodghast(sac medium), Lotus Cobra, and/or Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. Other than that I used to use this in a B/G Grave Pact deck w/ Savra, Queen of the Golgari, but it was a little slow and replaced w/ Mind Slash to hose my opponent's "In Response" actions.
Other than that, this in a meta-game would be quite benefitial since you could simply chump block a huge non-trample creature, then sac it after it's been declared a blocker and thin out your library/mana ramp your next turn.
