It's 5 cards, then 10, then 20, then 40, in four turns it can mill a normal deck by it's own^^ Unlikely, but awesome.

This by far my favorite magic card the mana cost may be a bit high but his abilities make this amzing if u can throwdown a loxodon warhammer on here or soul link on him you can gain massive life i was playing a 10 person game and got him out and sadly noone had any flying creaturs and i was bale to make him a 408/408 and through a diplomatic immunity on him so there was noone way he was dieing

Its a 5/5 flying creature, fairly expensive but if you can manage to play it early in the game or when your opponent is vulnerable to flying creatures you get one tough cookie. Each time this guy attacks your opponent he gets that many 1/1 counters - 5/5 to 10/10 to 20/20 - hay perfect vission! Four direct scores with this dude and your opponent won't have a deck left. Sad to watch Szedek get annialated by a fire ball or death card. But even more funny when you happen to have a handy induce paranoia card to counter something like that - they lose even more cards from their library!

i actually got this card from a pre-construct. freaking awesome card. in 4 turns after playing him (unless i read his effect and misunderstood) he was an 80/80. i would have probably got him higher but the person i was playing had no more cards. he goes great in blue and black discard decks.

This card owns. 4 or less hits can win the game regardless of the opponents life. It can deck almost and deck in a couple hits. He even let me completely deck a person with a 200 or so card deck. And for all the people who complain about his mana cost, remember that it is 1 mana less than the other guildleaders.

This plus whisper silk cloak, make him a game winner. I got him out with 2 loxodon warhammers and a whisper silk cloak, and on the next turn BAM! He gets rid of the top 11 cards of my opponents deck, AND becomes a 22/16! Next turn he becomes a 44/32, and then after that an 88/64! You can mill an entire deck with this guy, although if you dont have aything that makes him unblockable or with trample he is hard to use. I dont see why ppl are also complaining about his "high mana cost", that is the way he is suppose to cost! 3UB for his strenght and toughness, ad then U for his flying, and B for his mill ability. Thats how they think of the cost!

Szadek isn't actually as great as one might imagine. Sure he can mill someone down on the third turn he's out and mill everyone else almost instantly every turn thereafter in multi, but if you're running Dimir control, then Szadek is not necessary at all. By the time you summon him, you should already have enough control over your opponent that you practically choose what they do and do not draw.
However, the reason he gets four stars instead of three (which is what he should get normally) is because of his application in EDH. I may be wrong about this, but if his ability does not extend to preventing his general-based damage, then he could easily gain enough counters to destroy everyone you can manage to get him to attack.

Mix this with the new Alara Reborn Mil creatures.
I wont say their names...but the Lich Lord and the Horror are good enough to keep the mil going for quite a while.
Szadek is a solid card for a mill deck that hopes to opperate at a casual game with 3 or 4 friends around the table.
Combine it with the new mask to make him have Fear, just for the lolz. or Whispersilk if you must. Any number of good ways.
I like him. cheap in price, good in effect.
Mana? Feh, your not Dark Rit'ing people. lol. Dark Rit's + Mana Conversion = him on turn 3 can swing!
(turn 1 black play Mana Clix to alter mana; turn 2: play another black for another mana clix; turn 3 tap the black for Dark Rit with 3 floating now. Spend 1 of the 3 to play another. 5 floating. 1 of the 5 to make 7 floating. throw 2 into mana clix to make your blue. bing bam boom, turn 2 Szadek, what do they do now?)

Excellent alternate win for reanimator, if they have immunity to damage somehow (worship, life gain). Flying is unblockable enough for most games. Turn one, 5 cards. Turn two, 10 cards, 15 total. Turn three, 15 cards, 30 total. Turn four, 20 cards, 50 total, and that should be enough to deck you opponent. Worth having a copy of if you own a reanimator, even if you don't run it, for the price.
