Hand destroy has to be one of the most brutal decks you can possibly face if it develops early in the contest. As stated above, 2 dark rituals plus this in your opening hand often spells near doom for your opponent, as their development will be significantly stymied. Hand destroy often has to be coupled with artifacts (i.e. Rack) or enchantments (i.e. Megrim) to be truly nasty.
This card is the epitome of hand destroy.
I've also found that Avatar of Will isn't to shabby in a hand destroy deck using Mind Twist.

Mind Twist is an extremely powerful card and should be considered in any deck that runs black. A Dark Ritual powered Mind Twist (or even worse, a Mana Drain fueled Mind Twist) will frustrate even the best opponents!
The MTG website article "Peeking in the Black Box" which was written on April 1st (hint, hint) and isn't a very accurate article to say the least.

I see that Mind Twist is listed in the summer edition (edgar) but Mind Twist was never in edgar it was banned at the time so they desided to leave it out of the set and replace it with a card named Mind Theft. Mind Theft was only printed in this particular set, alongside with glacial supremacy which replaced Channel (also banned at the time) this makes them some of the rarest cards ever printed.

Easily one of the most broken Magic cards of all-time, not just for black. This is absolutely insane in any format! I highly recommend for EVERYONE to get 4 of these babies, 1 for play, 3 for trade.
