Combo Gideon with Norn's Annex, it is quite humour watching your opponent pay 2 life per creature that has to attack Gideon, unless of course they have {W} mana available. Having a Norn's Annex kill a player during their declare attackers step makes Magic worth playing (*Assuming their life total is even, otherwise they will be left at 1 life)

As if he wasn't good enough, they print that angel in scars that combos with him to wreck their creatures, too good together.

Bought one at a pre-release then within a month and a half following, opened 4 more drafting...
Pros: Pseudo time walk ability by forcing opposing dudes to attack him, Removal to tapped creatures, turns into a 6/6 prevent all damage done to him beatstick. 3rd best walker behind Jace TMS and Elspeth, Knight-Errant.
Cons: costs 5 to play

Pulled one at the prerelease, used him for my final kill for the over-all win. Another guy pulled one too and hate-traded me an elspeth so I wouldn't be able to play it again. The next week at FNM pulled another Gideon and he nearly killed me right there

I see him as an excellent option for both UW and just White. I bought one for 30, cracked one in a booster, and i bought three target packs and pulled 2 gideon out of 2 of them, hows that for lucky?

It's even more fun if you're playing him with another color with removal. So think of using the +2 ability when your opponent has no creatures just to build up loyalty. Then when he starts to put out creatures. +2 again to force them to attack (especially if they're smaller end creatures or if like the other commenter said about fog, etc.) and start sniping them.
Or hey just turn him into a creature and swing into your opponent.

This card is completely bananas. I somehow managed to pull it at a prerelease yesterday and run a 2 color 40 card deck to try test this meat shield out. He does not disappoint.

Very good, I use him in a tap deck. The deck overall needs some tweaks, I'm not exactly a pro yet lol. But nevertheless very effective in the application.

Reviewer above, Day of Judgment my friend. But.. Sunblast Angel + Gideo = no more creatures for the opponent. I prefer to just DoJ and counter normal spells with negate. (White/Blue control deck) Play some man lands, Jace Beleren (No Mindsculptor yet) and siphon through the deck to find what I need, and take em down with Roil Elemental or Sun Titan. I don't feel bad about killing my own 3 drop creatures either, Sun Titan is my best friend :D.

Gideon is good planeswalker card, but Elspeth still the best (along with Jace the Mind Sculptor).... Gideon face Elspeth in battlefield? Oh man... just say good night, hehehehe....

Great in UW control, but I can't give him 5 star because he doesn't help if opposing creatures too many or too big... Jura probability dead when face them...

I can surley see the 2nd Edition of Gideon to be White/Blue. Anyone else notice how much control influence he has!

There is decidely some nice synergy with this card. Make them all attack, then block and Smite. Or have a Lightmine Field or two in play. White control just became a very viable option. Bought a fat pack and a booster box, got one of him in each. Definately thinking that was a nice l'il card pool to work with.

First review, hmm? Well... He's different. No "ultimate" ability, and he can pass on the changes in loyalty to actually enter the battlefield for a turn. Now to rate each ability seperately.
+2 to force all of your opponent's creatures to attack him is better than you might think. Drop a Fog, Holy Day, Angelsong, and you just tapped all of their creatures for free, leaving him at 8. Could also be used to end the game, seeing as you now have a clear shot at their life (unless they have some Walls).
-2 to kill a tapped creature is very nice. Especially with synergy to the first ability. Detours your opponent from attacking him when they have the choice, and it can of course be used nicely with Tideforce Elemental and the like.
0, to become a 6/6 creature for the turn that can't take damage? Interesting. Obviously, you can use this after forcing your opponent to attack him and tap out their creatures, then get revenge and swing for at least 6, not counting your other creatures. The sad thing is that kill spells will work on him, such as Hideous End, Doom Blade, and the like.
Overall, an interesting planeswalker. He can be useful in certain decks, and I do expect him to see some play.

Meh, no ultimate ability??? The "0" is his ultimate ability!!! This planeswalker seems good at the beginning, but more and more worse at the end... no one that can replace Elspeth....
