Scuttlemutt's one of those cards people hardly think about, but in reality it's a very useful card. It is a 2/2 artifact creature that costs 3 colorless to play, with two abilities. The fact it has two useful abilities (add one mana of any color or change the color of a permanent to any color(s) of your choice.) makes its casting cost rather efficient for being a colorless artifact and for what it does. Also, the color changing ability has been useful on more than one occasion, such as getting around protections, and causing unfriendly spells that target more 'important' monsters to fizzle due to color illegality. (My opponent did NOT like it when I used Scuttlemutt's power to paint my Adarkar Valkerie black to avoid being doom-bladed.)
