One of the relatively few ways to ramp a mono-white deck, it brings out your army really fast and provides you with extra mana to activate abilities, I super advise this!

Love it. can't tell you how many times I drew two mox dia, three islands and a howling mine first turn in my ring of gix/winter orb deck. And that was when it was all type two. All the moxes get 5 stars. Vintage is the only Magic worth playing.

I run two of these in my Blue-White-Black deck since it became unrestricted. Losing a land in T1 isn't such a big setback because your hand is rarely empty. Speed & versatility are the keys!

This card is Awesome in decks that want lands in your graveyard such as aggro loam.

I run this in a R,G,B T1 deck with goyfs. But I have 4 and would take this one over it's incest sister Chrome Mox.Diamond your basically making a land a 5 color artifact. Worth it.not too fond of first turn discarding a spell with chrome mox.

Whoever doesnt give this card five stars doesnt deserve to play magic. one of the best cards ever made. There is nothing like two counter spells first turn with Diamond

I think that the discarding a land thing is just a minor setback, what if you were to have 2 mox diamonds in hand and say 3 lands, thats 3 mana first turn, I think it is just amazing.

The one Mox my friend had (the diamond) had to be the least valuable one, and I didn't know that. I ended up trading 3 Mutilates and a Foil Cromat for it.

This card to me is one of the backbone cards in any multicolor decks. Sure you have to discard a land, but to be able to play it for 0 mana makes it almost as good as the original moxes. To me it beats the heck out of BoP..

One of my favorite cards of all time. When Stronghold first came out, a good friend of mine got one of these out of a pack. I spent three days trying to get it off him during the lunch period at school. Every day we kept putting it off. Eventually the price guide in Scrye came out, saying that the Mox was worth $25. He wouldn't trade it then even if I gave him my house, so I ended up not having one until about a year and a half ago.

Im giving it 4 stars due to its current errata and the fact that the mox opal just came out recently. The diamond is nifty in the sense that you can use it first turn without the metalcraft ability. The mox opal I think is slightly better because it doesnt force you to discard a land. All you need is another 2 artifacts to achieve the metalcraft and with all the awesome cards out there that have 0 casting cost: ornithopther, phyrexian walker, shield sphere, memnite, zuran orb, all the moxes, and many others its really easy to get an awesome blue artifact or any color combo deck going.

I can't in good conscience give this guy a 5 star since if you're not running somewhere around 24-26 lands in your deck it tends to cause problems with either drawing it late game and not having the land to discard or drawing it early game and having only 1 land to discard. Granted Life from the Loam kind of negates this requirement but if you're not running that then Mox Diamond may not work too well for you. Nothing is more depressing than opening up a hand of land + Mox Diamond with no other land in hand. In the right deck, such as Stax, this card is beast, but it's just not a universal must have in any deck.

ok well this card is insanely good.....but....in 1 way its better than a regular mox and in 1 way its not
the way its better...is you can choose the mana u want...the way its not is u gotta discard a land thats the only thing keeping it from being worth hundreds....i mean u can get a mox...but if u dont got the right one you cant use it really.....if u have this....it dosent matter....its any color...but u gotta discard a land...which isnt really too bad.

Just remember, folks. Wizards errata'd this card. The current Oracle text as of 10/20/05 is: "As an additional cost to play Mox Diamond, discard a land card. T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."

Ah, how I wish it still had the ability to be used as a sorcery-speed Lotus Petal; that's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Sure, it's not classic Mox, but it nearly as useful. First turn multiple any colour mana, (play a land too), and you don't even have to lose any good cards from your hand...unless you are short on land. Remember the Paris rule when playing with this card.

The ultimate card for a multi-colored deck. As magic becomes more and more toned down (which it is becoming) this card will increase in value.

Any card that says Mox on it is bound to be good. While the Diamond may not be as good as the Moxes from the basic set, requiring you to discard a land, and you can play 4 in Extended decks (for now, anyway)! It is vulnerable to artifact removal, but despite that, it has found a home in numerous combo and Tinker decks. The card does have its disadvantages, and you should not put it in a deck with little land or a deck that doesn't need very much mana. Still it's a very powerful card.

I got this card out of like my first pack of stronghold and ended up trading it for like $5. At the time i didnt know it'd be any good, as I figured the discarding of land wasnt really worth it.
