I use this Mean card with guilder bairn(s) to constantly double the counters each turn and rite of consumption for the kill, or fling for the kill depending on if I use Red sideboard, or main Black, etc.

Yes, in most cases Ivy Elemental is better. But this is colorless, which means I can use it in non-green decks. Slap out a rolling stones and it becomes better than the Ivy, even though you have to use two cards for it. What I mainly use it for is burnt offering. Shifting Wall, burnt offering, drain life. Essentially doubles your mana.

i dont really think this is that good of a card u can get ivy elemental for just one more man and u can attack also (not my kinda card)
