Very powerful card in the right conditions. I run these in my R/U Land Destruct deck. Use with Steam Vents and Volcanic Islands and play with Gush and Rite of Flame. Turn 1 Brainstorm/Ponder, Turn 2 play Rite of Flame and tap lands for 3CMC, Play Gush returning lands and play Scorched Earth discarding those 2 lands, or basics if possible. You get card advantage and land count is back to Zero and there is 1 Rite of Flame in the graveyard(Meaning the next one will basically be a Red Dark Ritual for which to Pillage your next land). Roiling Terrain, Veteran Brawlers(best used with War's Toll) and Serendib Efreet are the kills in the deck...
