Anyone who rated this card as a 3 or lower does not play competitive magic. This card is awesome and gives superior advantage. Before harmonize came out, this was really the only solid greed card advantage. Two creatures with one card pays for itself and will win you games.

amazing card, one of the best green cards to be printed in a while
maybe slipping on a top ten green card list of all time
pointing out the strengths of this card to a new player will give a better understanding of card advantage

Well, lets see turn two at 3/3 efalant token then turn three another kinda owns in my opinion. When you are pushing out 3/3 creatures with no drawback that early in the game I would definantly use it....wait I do hahahahahah use it or level up..

This card is just filthy...especially in the current standard metagame. R/G aggro and Mono G aggro would be hurting without this card, especially with everyone leaning towards control decks. It's two threats on one card, and the second threat can't be countered except for with Trickbind. Of course the creature can still be destroyed or bounced but this card is probably the most efficient high-end beatdown card in standard. Just a straight-up bomb.

For the casual player it isn't as impressive but in an environment where card advantage is viewed as highly important this is one of greens best cards. Your opponent will usually have to use two cards to get rid of both elephant tokens you get from one card. That two for one swing is huge especially for a color like green that doesn't see card advantage that often.

Let me explain it this way. Turn 1 lanowar elves. Turn 2 Call of the herd. Turn 3 call of the herd.
attack for 3. you now have 3. aggressive crits on the board having used two cards. You're opp has to deal. Most likely with 3 cards IF he has them. BOMB flat out wins games.

It's not as fast as some green cards, however there's a world beyond that. It's card advantage unlike any other basically. For one card, you get two creatures. the first time around your effieciency is consistent, 3 for a 3/3 and its flexible cause it only costs one green. Later on you get the optuon of flashing it back for 4, less effiecient obviously but not a terrible deal and still flexible also. The beauty is you can flash it at any time, so nukes like wrath of god aren't as devastating for you. It's a no brainer for almost any green deck, it works like a charm under any condition!

okay this card is not something you need to own unless you play green, and want to win. no brainer third turn 3/3 fourth turn 3/3 can you say tempo. even the best of control decks will be scrambling to fight these off.

Ok bud, the reason you can burn them is because you are playing type 1, not type 2. Yes, I could burn any type 2 card in the game with a simple black lotus, mox, dark ritual, ancestral recall (draw 3 cards for 1 mana), Juzam, etc. As mentioned in one of the above reviews, it is meant to be played in standard, not the other types. And about Khamal, I agree that person made a bad move, but calling khamal a mediocre card?!?!?!? You think your type 1 can smoke? Try Priests of Titania and elves with Khamal.... get third turn khamal, turn four use your massive mana with elves to turn ALL of their lands into 1/1's, Simmoon (deal 1 damage to all of opponents creatures) revitalize (untap all creatures) use khamals overrun ability around 10 times.... game over.... with revitalize it is even possible to kill all of their lands on the 3rd turn. Go ahead, put out your Juzam... my khamal will run all over when he is around 40/40 trample.... oh, and by the way, you're out of land. Smoked!

What you newbies fail to realize is that this card is a double threat. The person who suggested actually paying ROTW's normal mana cost is simply retarded. In a multi-color deck with this card and birds you can put out a 3/3 second turn, flash back a ROTW that you have discarded the next, and once you run out of cards you can flash back the Call in order to get another 3/3... not to mention in a discard deck you can easily get Glory in the graveyard and now you obviously have the creature power to crush your opponent. I suggest you newbies play in some DCI sanctioned tournaments and learn how to play. Just look on www.magicthegathering.com and you will see that 2/4 of last years' World Championship decks used this card. It is obviously one of the most powerful cards in type 2.

Very good card. Great for suprise sideboard tech. First game control. Counters and 3 solid creatures. 2nd and 3rd depending 4 calls aggro-control. Find better prices with a little searching.

Althou one of the most playable cards in Standart and really deserves the money (its the most played card in tournaments after basic lands) it has no use in Extended.Trade yours' away before it rotates out.

This card rocks. And if you play green and don't own this card your down right stupid.
If you can't afford call of the herd go get some roars.
my whole deck is built around my call of the herds and i've rarely lost with them.

Eu já tenho um call of the herd, arranjem pois vale bem a pena.

first of all forget about the money. If u are serious you'll get these babies, cause they are extremely easy to splash in a variety of ways and colors. U gain card advantage + two decent threats + for just 7 misely mana. u get it all with this card: card advantage, beatdown, cheapness, and flashback that doesn't cost an arm and a leg like the elephant ambush.

that guy who sugested beast attack is a MORON! only an idiot newbie would use an inferior card. If you are the least bit serios, nothing but the best will do.

The above two reviewers must be morons and never won a game of magic. Call of the Herd is good because it forces control players to use two counterspells.

This is one of the best cards in standard to date! Two 3/3 creatures for seven mana.
That rocks! It is the best when used in multiple color decks!

Its all about Card Advantage =

You get 2 threats.

Your opponent must deal with both, usually using 2 cards to do so.

I obviously don't know how to play Magic according to [previous reviewer]. It's a 3/3 for 2G, and you can use it again to get a 3/3 for 3G...okay, so it's not that bad, but still...

i dont know what that reviewer meant by "you just bounce them"... It's all about card advantage, this card gives you just that by letting you summon twice with one card, while your opponent has to use two to respond to it.

At best you could get 2 3/3's by the third turn. Talk about card advantage and early game controll. Plus, you get them both from only ONE card, you just can't beat that. I will admit though, the price is a little high for this card due to the high profile it get's at tournaments.

A rookie player may underestimate this card at first glance. But it's quite simple why it's so good. The fact that it's two threats in one aready makes it unbelievable. But why isn't Elephant Ambush or Beast Attack better? Because both costs for Call of the Herd are so cheap and they only require one green mana each time. It makes it eay to splash green in a multi-color deck. A 3/3 never hurt to have either, perfect for blocking early agressors. It'll stop most threats . It's flashback ability also helps if the card is discarded. It is a bit pricy though.

This card is decent, sure, but come on people, it is nowhere near as great as some of you are claiming. 3 mana for a 3/3 creature was not amazing, even when the card was first printed. And 7 mana for 2 of them is an even worse deal. Some of you have focused so much on card advantage that you have completely overlooked the hugely inefficient use of mana. In my opinion, the very slight card advantage does not make up for it. If you showed up today at a tournament with this card in your deck, you would probably get laughed at.

Yes, I think this is a very fast card, but Beast Attack is a little better. Though not easily splashable, it's a great combat trick to play, since it's an instant, not a sorcery, and will dominate the elephants.

I don't see why you people why this card. It cost 1 less than a 3/3, and it is a token and can't be enchanted. Why not a Roar of the Wurm? (11 mana for 2 6/6)

Hate to say it but even though beast attack is a slight bit slower it is better to because.
1.)It is cheaper in price
2.)Its an instant not a stupid sorcery spell...

This card is a mistake. This makes no sense at all! This card should never have been made, come on!!!
This is way too good!
A 3/3 (without disadvantages) mostly costs at least 4 mana, except for that exceptional good common, Trained Armodon, which is a simple 3/3 for 1GG.

And now they don't only change that 1GG to 2G, which is already a lot better, but you can simply CAST IT AGAIN?!! And sorry, but this card is ridiculous compared to Elephant Ambush... it does exacly the same and is WAY cheaper. And now don't say that an instant is so much better than a sorcery - it's a creature!!...
