i hate when everybody rips on this card (or any card) for costing more than like 5 or 6 mana
my one friend says anything over 4 is too much mana
seriously guys. dark rituals, cabal rituals, thrulls. could have this guy out by like the 4th or 5th turn

This card works really well with Hypergenesis decks.

u guys are all missing the point
yeah he may cost 11 mana to play
yes your opponent might not have too much of a hand to get rid of
those are all good details but still
an 8/8 with flying
thats pretty damn good in addition to the hand removal

plus if u equip any kaldra equipments it makes him even more powerful

Why is everyone so focused on the ability... The great part of this card is the fact that it is an 8/8 flyer that doesn't require you to sacrafice or pay land once it is out. This card is the ultimate reanimator deck card and I routinely have this thing into play by turn three in my buried alive deck. Better yet use last rites to discard it if it is in your hand and you can make sure your opponent has nothing to kill it with. And that equals victory. Nothing is more fun than killing someone in three or four turns.

hers a solution for its mana cost: cabal coffers

This card is awsome, why pay the casting cost when you can burry it with a burried alive and bring it into play with a balthor the defiled. you still get an 8/8 flying creature for only like 4mana.

I love this card, it is my favorite card in my whole deck. The only thing I don't like about it is that the mana cost to play it. 8/8 is one of the best creatures you can have.plus it has flying.and the illustrasion on the card is amazing. I'm the only one I know that has a card that great. Flying 8/8 creature, what could beat that!

O.K. we're gonna get something straight. this boy is a bad ass. its a stalemate breaker. you get an 8/8 flier that takes your opponent's hand when he needs it the most. you'll need a black flier especially 100% beef life this. 11 mana? so what. 11 lands in the late game stalemate, who cares?!?! if you play with blue, put zephid's embrace on it, making it untargetable 10/10.

This card is a riot. Just the thought of removing someones hand from the game is killer. all you need is to use an elvish piper or show and tell. And if you want to keep their hand removed from the game, all you have to do is use it along with malevolent awakening, sack it as soon as it comes into play and BAM! no more opponents hand (if you mind sacking an 8/8 flyer)

First turn, one swamp, plus one dark ritual, plus one entomb (for Hpnox,) plus exhume equals game for you.

hum am I the ONLY person that thought of the evil way to use this? use survival (once or twice to get it in your Graveyard and fetch a Volraths shapeshifter...) play volraths shape shifter and as it steals this guys abilitys they lose their hand (and a 8/8 flyer to boot!)! HA! then if you discard another card... the ability changes! so they CANT get their hand back! the guy dosent leave play! they hand is removed from the game forever! I love Breakfast decks...

This card may be strong, but it takes a lot of mana to pay for it. But still, it can wipe out any creature that gets in its way.

Review #16 is wrong, if you have no hand you cant do a thing to it for atleast 1-2 turns (IF your lucky) otherwise its much longer than that. and by that time, you're SOL. And very few people play with Maze of Ith anymore let alone know what the thing actualy does. I know it and you know but most others don't. And if you have it in the right deck (like a reanimate deck) if its killed, so what, just reanimate it. You can even get it first turn, Dark ritual+funeral charm+exhume=hypnox turn 1 w/o ability but it'll be ateast 2+ turns before opponent can do anything about it.

While it's true he's expensive, you can get around the casting cost easily and still get the ability. Just use Dawn of the Dead to get one from the graveyard for a turn then use Retraced Image on that one to bring another one from your hand permanently. You still get the same effect as bringing it from your hand for ONE BLUE MANA! Sick huh?

hypnox costs way too much. come one 8 of any land and 3 swamps, ur kidding me! but man does he have what it takes, 8/8 flier and take away opponents hand until taken out of game, awesome!

well, very costly i do say, but i just think he is cool, and i want onee. if u remove all the cards in someones hand theres gonna be nothing to stop hynox, or anything else you have, at least for a turn or two... haha

for post #'s 4,6, and 8. let me point out a little ruling to you. The card says played from your hand, not comes into play from your hand. There fore, using belbes portal, or elvish piper, his removal ability would not take effect, take the word of a certified judge.

Super this card is insanely good! Why i gave this card a three you ask? It cost's 11 mana. By the time you are able to play this card usually the fate of the game has already been decided. ANd as any good magic player knows, huge creatures dont win the game. Plus if you get this in your oppening hand, its like a waste of a card. What are you gonna do with it.
Answer: ABsolutely nothing. THis card, as all huge creatures are A WASTE OF SPACE!

this is one bad boy, but you can say the same thing about how much he costs. in a deck with one of these you need a dragon arch or a elvish piper. wait til the guys see my new black powered deck.

by the time you get 11 mana, your apponent wont have much of a hand left. The odds of playing it on the 1st turn (with dark rituals)are only about 1/105 games (assuming a 75 card deck).

this creature is a joke. oooooo hynox. 8/8 flying remove all cards in opponent's hand. After you do that i'll just edict you, the player until that thing dies. If not, get ready for a stalemate between maze of ith and hypfruit

Hypnox would be good if you could use tricks like Elvish Piper or reanimating to get it into play. But virtually the only way to remove your opponent's hand is to hard cast it, and at 11 mana, that's just too expensive.

It costs to much mana and your opponent gets his hand back along with the cards already in his hand.

Eleven mana. That alone is way too much for any creature.
