"You know who" obviously does not recognize the value of this card in ValaRamp, one of the most popular decks in the Type 2 metagame at the moment. They usually hit this by turn 5, with a healthy start of Turn 2 Khalni Heart Expedition, followed by turn 3 Harrow, Turn 4 Primeval Titan. This is one of their finishing bombs that wraps up the game if the opponent doesn't have Day of Judgment.

This + Beast master Ascension = Win
or
This + Overwhelming Stamped = Win
either way, you get a 10/10 and 7 5/6 plant tokens. You just have to decide if you want them to stay around or have trample. I'd probably go with trample.

At first I thought the mana cost was it's main drawback, but when rise came out I knew what it meant. they basically gave it that ability because they want you to pay it's mana cost using just land, which richly rewards you with large garden of 0/1 plants to supersize...I also have just one word for you... CLONE! 4 times! RITE OF REPLICATION! KICKED! 4 times! Super BG landfall! YEEEEEEEAAAAAAA!

I enjoy this card quite a bit. Nothing like dropping it with 7 lands out so you get 7 0/1 plants, then next turn dropping a sac land so that they become 2/3's. I play it woth Oran-Rief the Vastwood so that by the second turn they are out the plants are usually 4/5's.

This is a great card for casual play, but it seems way too slow to be effective in the tournament environment. Consider this: In order to use it to its full potential, you must have 7 lands in play. This leaves you with very limited options. You can use mana-boosting cards or something like Elvish Piper to get Avenger out sooner, but then of course, you don't get your full compliment of plant tokens. Another option is to put lots of cards like Harrow, Rampant Growth, or Khalni Heart Expedition in your deck to try to get a lot of land into play quickly. The problem with that is you end up spending your first few turns doing almost nothing except laying land. And like I said earlier, if you are in a tournament and aren't killing your opponents within the first few turns, you will probably be going home early.
