There are several permanent cards you can combo this with such as Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, jace. Those are just for standard format but their are countless others.

font of mythos + djinn of wishes? could help get the counters on, granted you'd want a spellbook or reliquary tower.

A very, very interesting card. I love the idea, but I think most games will be over before you can get this up and running. If you get it working, it is an absolutely amazing advantage, but it just seems too slow for anything other than casual play, so I give it 2 stars. I am open to suggestions, though.
