Obsidian Fireheart

Awesome art, great flavor! 4/4 for 4CMC in red is actually pretty dang powerful and the ability is balanced I would say, especially since most cool creature activated abilities require tapping them in addition. Currently I'm building a Painter's Servant deck that has this and Chaotic Backlash as the kill. Very strong card, but I doubt it will ever see tournament play.

I really don't see how stuffy doll works with this card... I leave pariah and its ilk to stuffy doll... As to the fireheart, very fun, not exactly the most competitive, but not bad. Even better, play this beast in chaos... they'll kill you quickly, but you have the satisfaction of watching the game continue and watch their lands burn even as your deck lies dead. HA!

Some of the best art I have seen in this set, and he has a place in red decks on a limited basis. He makes a good game 1 creature by giving you a 4/4 for 4, and continues some of his damage after leaving play which could help secure some wins. After game 1, he will probably just become a sideboard slot, but definitely worth playing.
