Would I main deck it no but as a super cheap budget side decker you better believe it son. In response to the comment that said something to the affect of, "has anyone seen it in competitive play/winning tournaments". I have used it to bring home 1st in FNM against cookie cutter standard no price limit decks many many times. Is it a win card, sure can be. Is it better than Gaea's Revenge, in theory no, in practice sometimes (easier on wallet anyway). There are many cards though that get overlooked in competitive play mostly due to what is recognized as the "pros" don't play them in the deck they run at that one event. If someone were to have hundreds to spend on a game of pieces of paper then by all means do but for the rest of us who have budgets and/or common since cards like this let us stomp that guy.

This card is the geatest example of the increase in power curve. its an 8/8 for 6 mana, oh wait and it can't be countered (a rare and powerful ability), and has trample meaning it steps over most dudes in standard...and yet, i haven't seen him played yet, once!
oh noes, he dies to path or doomblade, but so does baneslayer. if they don't have the answer, they're dead, if they do, you play another one.
Fantastic card, shame standard play sucks bum at the moment. hopefully once shards cycles out, playing big green fatties will be cool again.

cards are getting more and more powerful no doubt but this is embarrasing. A complete no-brainer on how to use or combo (since it only needs itself basically) it beats out 99% of every green beatstick. overpowered.

If this card is so "overpowered" why aren't people winning tournaments with this in their deck? People moan about "power creep" while lower costed creatures still dominate Magic in nearly every competitve scene. It hasn't been til the Titans, Wurmcoil Engine and Baneslayer Angel have mid range fatties seen so much play (and really only in Standard). Wizards buffing fatties isn't power creep... they are simply finally making large mana creatures have the impact they should have.
Quit whining and revel in the fact that Wizards is recognizing their casual audience and providing you with effective tools for destroying annoying "counterspell" decks.

This creature is insanely good and to increase its rarity, in light of this fact, it should be a mythic rare. It can be destroyed with any card such as Doom-blade or Terror, but if it could not it would too powerful. The sad thing about a creature like this is that it makes creatures such as the green classic Force of Nature obsolete. In Terra Stomper one has a force of nature with no upkeep that cannot be countered. Why even make such a card? But the card has been made and should be used in big creature green decks.

Big beater for low mana. Still, the stomper is pretty vulnerable to spot removal :S
Still, good for an anti blue deck.
