For being a starter basic edition deck this one really holds it's own. The thorn elly is amazing of course, but the real beauty of this deck lies in its great combo of mana generating spells and creatures and big monsters. I combine it with an newer green green theme deck and its incredible

This deck really seems to pack a punch, especially considering that it's only a 40 card theme deck. Enchant Pride of Lions or Thorn Elemental with Blanchwood Armor, and your opponents are in for a serious beating..!
Ancient Silverback is another notably large creature of the deck, and with its regenerate ability, you'll make sure he stays around for more than one turn.
- sure, Silvos, Rogue Elemental is better than the Ancient Silverback, but you have to keep in mind that Silvos is a legendary creature. But now that we're talking about him anyway, Silvos seems like a great addition to the deck, along with some more Blanchwood Armors and a couple of Llanowar Elves. Kavu Titan is also an excellent alternative to Grizzly Bears.
Phantom Centaur also seems like a good choice here, since its Protection from Black ability renders immune to most spot removal spells. Also, there's a neat interaction between the Phantom creatures and cards that provide bonuses to power and toughness: If you enchant a Phantom Centaur with Blanchwood Armor, its passive "Phantom" ability will still prevent it from taking any damage, even if it doesn't have any +1/+1 counters on!

not the best deck i've seen but the thorn elemental sure puts one hell of a kick in it, assuming you can get it out, there is some potential in the deck for starters and semi-advanced players.
