This card has served me well on countless occasions and is an asset to my machine deck. The key to this very formidable machine is not to focus all your energy on just him, he's not the only ancient gear monster who is immune to spells and traps when on the offensive. Their power is best captured by using their effect to guard your other powerhouse machines, this means they attack before you risk a trap card with. The gears are ancient, but in my opinion they crush the terminator flat! >:)

This card with Gear town is great! It has a huge attack and penetration to top it all off. Now 2 tribute cards in decks are hard to come by these days considering how slow some can be but this card with Geartown makes it usable. Geartown lowers it's tributes to one and whamo! you have a monster bigger than anything your opponent will probably dish up. The only draw back is the "no special summon" clause. Oh how could I forget, this card is also immune to trap/magic when it attacks! Talk about screwing with your opponent. Great card if you plan to run a Gear/Synchro deck.

Ancient Gear Golem is an interesting card to say the least. tribute two monsters and you get a huge cerature as strong as Blue Eyes, plus it has the added safety of stopping traps and spells during its attack, so no sakuretsu or mirror force. when it attacks a defensive creature with def less than his attack points, they get dealt the difference. And its an earth attribute, so you can use the trojan horse, and make an ok earth deck it you wanted. Just watch out for bottomless trap hole.
Most people are going to recognize the GX Ancient Gear deck though, which has only one real goal: get AGG as fast as possible. But the fact that you cant special summon it kinda forces you to spend a lot of resources to do so. At least its not restricted at all. In casual play, you could get away with it, but in tourneys, your opponents are gonna get thier big stuff out before you do most likely.
If you happen to have 3 of em, and still want to make a deck with them, I'd suggest going with its Earth attribute and have some spell trap support that follows with his ability to make it fun and more original.
I guess before i go i can tell yo some of the cards i have in my barely-used-because-i-was-bored AGG deck
AG Golem
AG soldier
AG beast
AG Castle
Gaia Power
The Trojan Horse
Drilloid
Steamoid

Magnet Circle LV 2
AG Cannon
Dekoichi The Battlechanted Locomotive
